Kilter has secured €6.5 million in new financing, led by a strategic investment from Kubota Corporation, as the Norwegian ag-tech company prepares for a Series B round and broader international expansion.

Kilter, which develops autonomous precision weeding systems, said the funding provides both capital and industrial validation as it moves into its next growth phase. Kilter has established commercial operations across Northern Europe and is expanding into additional international markets.

Kubota, one of the world’s largest agricultural machinery manufacturers with operations across Europe, Asia, the Americas and Oceania, joins as a strategic investor, adding global distribution reach and sector expertise to Kilter’s existing base, according to the company.

“We believe that Kilter offers an outstanding solution to help farmers manage weeds more efficiently and sustainably,” Miquel Albareda, Manager Corporate Development, Kubota Corporation, said in the announcement. “We are excited to work alongside Kilter and our co-investors to support the company’s next phase of growth. This investment reflects our ongoing commitment to strategically investing in and actively supporting innovative startups from Kubota’s global perspective.”

According to Kilter, the majority of the new capital came from existing shareholders, including impact investor Pymwymic and Norwegian family office SBG Invest, what the company says signals continued backing from long-term investors.

Kubota’s involvement places Kilter within a broader agricultural ecosystem that includes machinery, crop protection and precision application technologies. Kilter counts Nufarm among its shareholders, positioning the company at the intersection of hardware and agronomy as farmers face rising pressure to reduce chemical use and improve field-level efficiency.

“This investment confirms that Kilter’s technology and business model are ready for the next phase,” noted Anders Brevik, Managing Director at Kilter. “With Kubota as a strategic investor, we are accelerating execution, scaling globally, and laying a strong foundation for our Series B.”
