YouTube has introduced an AI-driven interactive search tool that delivers step-by-step results combining text, short clips, and longer videos in response to conversational queries. The feature, called Ask YouTube, is designed to serve users who turn to the platform for practical guidance on topics like recipes and travel planning.
Users can pose detailed prompts — such as planning a multi-day road trip — and receive structured, multiformat responses alongside creator details to aid discovery. Follow-up questions are also supported within the same experience.
Currently available to U.S. Premium subscribers aged 18 and over, Google said it intends to expand access to non-Premium users. The launch is part of Google’s broader push to embed AI-mode search across multiple surfaces, including web browsing and product discovery tools.
