Grid Dynamics announced it has entered a strategic partnership with Doosan Robotics to combine AI software with collaborative robot systems for industrial automation. The partnership will pair its GAIN Platform for Physical AI with Doosan’s collaborative robots, or cobots, which are used in 45 countries, according to the company.

The companies plan to offer industrial customers a more complete hardware-and-software stack for robotic automation and will focus on production-grade use cases such as dual-arm assembly and packaging. The goal is to help manufacturers handle tasks that are difficult for traditional robotics software, including complex inspection and packaging, and variable assembly.

Grid Dynamics’ platform is designed to help users create robotic manipulation workflows, deploy physical AI models and monitor robotic lines using digital twins. A digital twin is a software model of a real system that can be used to test, monitor and optimize operations.

The partnership is also intended to support joint go-to-market efforts and continued research and development around robotics policy control, or the software that helps robots decide how to act in changing environments.
