Music streaming platform Deezer has reported that AI-generated tracks now account for more than 50% of downloads on its service, marking a sharp escalation in the growth of AI music on the platform. The company said daily uploads of AI-generated tracks peaked in June 2026 at an average of 90,000 tracks per day.
Deezer CEO Alexis Lanternier said the company has spent nearly two years combating fraud and payment dilution tied to AI music, and that with half of all daily uploads now AI-generated, additional safeguards are being introduced to protect artists and songwriters while keeping focus on music fans genuinely engage with.
In response, Deezer said it will begin removing AI-generated tracks that haven’t been streamed in six months or that are linked to fraudulent streaming activity designed to inflate revenue.
The company has tracked the rise of AI uploads since January 2025, when such tracks made up roughly 10% of daily uploads. That share climbed steadily through 2025 and into 2026, reaching 44% by April. Deezer, which began labeling AI-generated music last year, said its detection technology can identify content generated by AI-music platforms including Suno and Udio. The company has since made its detection tools available to other streaming platforms and released a separate tool capable of identifying AI-generated tracks on rival services.
