Dexory Deploys SimScale’s Engineering AI for Warehouse Robotics Development

Insider Brief

  • Dexory has deployed SimScale’s Engineering AI platform to accelerate the design and testing of its autonomous warehouse robots, expanding its existing use of cloud-based simulation tools.
  • The software will help engineers investigate structural failures, test multiple design variations, automate simulation reporting and build a searchable knowledge base from previous projects.
  • The deployment comes as the global warehouse robotics market is projected to grow from $14.7 billion in 2024 to $117 billion by 2034, according to Global Market Insights.

Dexory has deployed SimScale’s Engineering AI platform to speed up the design and testing of its autonomous warehouse robots.

According to the UK warehouse data intelligence company, the software will be used to investigate structural component failures, automatically test multiple design variations and build a searchable knowledge base from previous engineering projects. The deployment expands Dexory’s existing use of SimScale’s cloud-based simulation platform, the company noted.

What it Means

Engineers will be able to run parameter sweeps that compare several design variables without configuring each simulation manually. The platform will also automate reporting, making results easier to analyze, compare and share across teams.

AI agents will capture findings and approaches from earlier simulations, allowing engineers to reuse proven methods and retain technical knowledge as Dexory grows. The company said the program is intended to identify where AI agents can provide the most value and establish practices for wider adoption across its engineering operations.

“AI has a ‘blank sheet of paper’ problem in engineering because we’re still discovering where it can create the greatest value,” said Calum MacDougall, Senior Mechanical Design Engineer at Dexory. “This pilot isn’t just about solving today’s engineering challenges. It’s about understanding how AI will reshape engineering over the coming years and helping us discover where it can genuinely transform the way engineers work.”

The global warehouse robotics market is projected to grow from $14.7 billion in 2024 to $117 billion by 2034, Dexory said citing Global Market Insigths data.

“Our recent industry research found that many engineering teams are still defining how AI will fit into their engineering workflows, but forward-thinking companies are already investing to build that understanding fast,” said David Heiny, CEO at SimScale. “Engineering AI has proven its ability to automate simulation tasks, explore significantly more design options and help engineers make better decisions faster. By piloting these capabilities broadly today, companies like Dexory are helping shape the future of their engineering practices”
