Neura Robotics Acquiring Active Shuttle Autonomous Transport System from Bosch Rexroth

Insider Brief

  • Neura Robotics is taking over Bosch Rexroth’s Active Shuttle autonomous transport system, with the transfer effective Oct. 1.
  • Neura Mobile Robots will assume responsibility for Active Shuttle’s hardware, software and service, while integrating the system into Neura’s broader physical AI ecosystem.
  • Active Shuttle is used in factories to move small load carriers and supply assembly workstations, with automated loading and unloading plus laser scanners and 3D obstacle detection for navigation around people.

Neura Robotics is expanding its autonomous intralogistics business with the takeover of Bosch Rexroth’s Active Shuttle autonomous mobile robot system.

According to the German robotics company, Neura Mobile Robots will assume responsibility for the system’s hardware, software and service. Active Shuttle is already used in industrial facilities to move small load carriers and supply assembly workstations.

“Europe has deep robotics and industrial know-how,” Neura’s founder and CEO David Reger noted in a LinkedIn post. “The opportunity now is to bring it together and build something bigger.”

Reger said the takeover of Active Shuttle is effective Oct. 1.

What is Active Shuttle?

Active Shuttle is an autonomous transport system designed to move dollies carrying small load carriers within factories. It can operate without major changes to existing infrastructure and uses safety laser scanners and 3D obstacle detection to navigate around people.

The system supports scheduled and consumption-based material transport and can automatically load and unload dollies, reducing manual material-handling tasks.

Neua indicated it plans to integrate Active Shuttle into its physical AI ecosystem, adding AI capabilities and interfaces that connect mobile robots with industrial robots and humanoids on shared infrastructure. The company said service, support and continued development of the system will remain in place for existing customers.
