Palladyne AI and Fanuc America have formed a strategic collaboration to develop AI-powered robotic automation for manufacturing, warehousing and logistics.

According to the companies, the effort will combine Fanuc America’s industrial robots with Palladyne IQ, Palladyne AI’s physical AI software platform, with the goal of making robotic systems easier to deploy and more adaptable to changing operating conditions.

The collaboration will focus on:

Platform integration: Optimizing Palladyne IQ for Fanuc robotic systems.

Robot intelligence: Developing AI-driven motion planning and adaptive behavior.

Human input: Adding teleoperation and human-assisted learning capabilities.

Simulation and training: Using simulation and AI model training to shorten deployment cycles.

Customer applications: Jointly validating use cases across manufacturing, warehousing and logistics.

Deployment workflows: Developing standardized processes for system integrators and end users.

Palladyne AI said Palladyne IQ is designed to help industrial robots understand and respond to dynamic environments by combining motion planning, adaptive behavior, teleoperation, human-assisted learning, simulation and model training.

The companies said the collaboration is aimed at manufacturers and logistics operators facing skilled-labor shortages, greater product variability and pressure to improve productivity. They also plan to develop more repeatable deployment methods intended to reduce the complexity of introducing robotic automation into operations.
