MOVIN Announces $7.5M Series A to Expand AI Motion Capture for Robotics and Physical AI
MOVIN, a South Korean company using AI to turn human movement into real-time 3D motion data, has secured approximately $7.5 million in Series A funding, taking its total capital to more than $10 million. IMM Investment led the round, joined by IBK Industrial Bank of Korea and Voyager Ventures, with follow-on investment from Atinum Investment, NAVER D2SF and Schmidt.
Founded in 2023, MOVIN developed MOVIN TRACIN, which combines LiDAR, camera vision and proprietary on-device AI to capture full-body motion without suits, markers or studio setups. The company generated about $750,000 in revenue within a year of launch, selling over 200 units across more than 20 countries, with North America its largest market.
Its technology has been used by Boston Dynamics and the RAI Institute for robot teleoperation and training, and MOVIN is the only South Korean Launching Adoption Partner for NVIDIA SOMA.
The funding will support global expansion, on-device multimodal AI and a new R&D center in South Korea focused on real-world datasets for world-model development.
CEO Byeoli Choi said human movement is becoming a vital data source for how AI interacts with the physical world. Hongchan Kim, Managing Director at IMM Investment, highlighted the company’s success in commercializing deep technology across sectors.
