Skynet Closes $1.2M Pre-Seed Funding to Build Resource Blockchain for Autonomous AI Agents

Skynet, a decentralized protocol enabling AI agents to autonomously access and pay for global services, has raised $1.2 million in pre-seed funding. Contributors include angel investors from GitHub, Polygon, Veracode, and Monotype. The funding will support the development of “The World’s Resource Blockchain™,” designed to empower AI agents to perform real-world tasks seamlessly.

Skynet aims to resolve critical barriers for AI agents, such as limited access to resources, fragmented systems, and human-dependent tasks like KYC, API credentials, and OAuth navigation. Vishnu Korde, Founder and CEO of Skynet, explained that businesses today are designing for human users, but the next big wave is designing for AI agents. Skynet’s resource blockchain enables agents to access services, execute payments, and engage with apps that would generally require human intervention.

The platform’s Smart Access Points allow AI agents to interact with services like Booking.com, AWS, Shopify, and more. These points eliminate the need for multiple wallets, gas tokens, or complex bridging mechanisms, enabling smooth cross-blockchain transactions.

Skynet’s infrastructure is built on Arbitrum’s Orbit chain, offering payment and tracking mechanisms that support real-life transactions, such as booking flights, managing portfolios, and purchasing services. The platform is designed for scalability, allowing AI agents to engage autonomously with global resources.

Venkat Yetrintala, CTO at Monotype, said Skynet is laying the groundwork for a future where AI agents can interact easily with resources across the globe and that they are trilled to support the company’s mission to change how businesses and AI interact.

Korde envisions a future where AI agents outnumber humans, acting as proxies for consumers. “By 2030, there will be at least as many AI agents as humans. These agents will be the new consumers, a challenge no organization is currently prepared to address,” he noted.

Skynet emphasizes its practical approach to advancing AI adoption, leveraging blockchain to enable autonomous AI-driven interactions while preparing businesses for the rise of the Agent Economy.

Ravikant Agrawal, Director of Growth at Polygon Labs, added: “Skynet is purpose-built to enable AI agents to perform real-world actions, a necessity that will only grow as the agent economy accelerates over the next decade.”

Developed by DeCloud Labs and built on Arbitrum Orbit, Skynet’s decentralized protocol provides AI agents with autonomous access to global resources. The platform supports interactions with web2 and web3 services, driving innovation across industries by fostering autonomy, scalability, and efficiency.
