Carrefour Italy Partners with SymphonyAI to Transform Retail Operations with AI

Carrefour Italy, a key player in the Italian retail sector since 1993 and part of the global Carrefour Group, has announced a strategic partnership with SymphonyAI to revolutionize its store operations through AI-based Store Intelligence. SymphonyAI, a leading enterprise AI SaaS provider, will deploy its Store Intelligence platform to enhance operational efficiency, improve customer experience, and drive revenue growth for Carrefour’s extensive network of stores.

Following a rigorous evaluation of AI-driven store intelligence solutions, Carrefour Italy selected SymphonyAI’s computer vision technology for its ability to address critical retail challenges, including reducing labor demands, improving pricing and promotional accuracy, and minimizing out-of-stock items. During pilot testing, store associates used handheld devices integrated with SymphonyAI’s software to quickly identify and resolve shelf issues, demonstrating seamless adoption and immediate benefits.

Alessandra Iacovelli, Chief Information Officer at Carrefour Italy, emphasized the company’s commitment to innovation, stating that SymphonyAI Store Intelligence will support Carrefour’s goals of operational excellence, enhanced shopper engagement, and waste reduction. She described the collaboration as a bold step toward achieving Carrefour’s Digital Retail 2026 strategy and building a fully connected retail ecosystem.

Dusan Rnic, Senior Vice President for International at SymphonyAI, praised Carrefour Italy’s forward-thinking approach, noting that the partnership underscores the retailer’s leadership in adopting cutting-edge AI technologies.

This collaboration positions Carrefour Italy as a trailblazer in digital retail transformation, delivering a more efficient, customer-focused shopping experience across its network of approximately 1,200 stores and omnichannel services.
