Donald Trump’s media company has begun public beta testing of an AI-powered search tool on its Truth Social platform, part of a broader push to expand the platform’s features and appeal.

The feature, called Truth Search AI, is powered by Perplexity, which Trump Media and Technology Group pointed out provides direct answers to user queries along with source citations. According to Trump Media, the tool is designed to improve the quality and breadth of information available on the site, which hosts the social media platform Truth Social, the streaming service Truth+, and the fintech product Truth.Fi.

“We’re proud to partner with Perplexity to launch our public Beta testing of Truth Social AI, which will make Truth Social an even more vital element in the Patriot Economy,” Trump Media’s CEO and Chairman Devin Nunes said in the announcement the search tool. “We plan to robustly refine and expand our search function based on user feedback as we implement a wide range of additional enhancements to the platform.”

The new search tool is currently live on the web version of Truth Social, with beta testing on mobile apps planned for a later date, the company said.

“Curiosity is the engine of change, and Perplexity’s AI is developed to empower curiosity by delivering direct, reliable answers with transparent citations that allow anyone to dig deeper,” Dmitry Shevelenko, Chief Business Officer at Perplexity, said in a statement

Trump Media, which trades under the ticker DJT, has positioned itself as a politically aligned alternative to major tech platforms. The rollout of AI tools marks an expansion of that strategy into the artificial intelligence space, with plans for further enhancements to follow.
