Mozilla Appoints Anthony Enzor-DeMeo as CEO to Lead Firefox Through AI-Driven Browser Shift

Mozilla has named Anthony Enzor-DeMeo as chief executive officer as the organization accelerates its response to a rapidly evolving browser market shaped by artificial intelligence. Enzor-DeMeo, previously general manager of Firefox, succeeds interim CEO Laura Chambers and will oversee both product strategy and broader organizational direction.

The appointment comes as AI-native browsers from companies such as OpenAI, Perplexity, Arc, Opera, and others intensify competition with established players including Firefox, Google Chrome, and Apple’s Safari. Mozilla confirmed it will increase investment in AI features across Firefox and related products, while maintaining an opt-in approach that preserves user choice and transparency.

Enzor-DeMeo will also focus on diversifying Mozilla’s revenue beyond search partnerships and expanding Firefox into a broader ecosystem of trusted software.
