  • The equity portion was led by East Ventures with participation from 500 Global, while the debt facility was led by AlteriQ Global.

Thailand startup Amity Robotics has raised $7 million in seed funding to develop concierge robots for malls and other high-traffic commercial settings.

According to the company, the funding was a mix of equity and debt financing with the equity portion of the round being led by East Ventures with participation from 500 Global. The debt facility was led by AlteriQ Global.

Its main product is ARC Base, a stationary AI concierge kiosk designed for commercial properties such as malls. The system is live across more than 30 properties in Singapore, the United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia, Hong Kong, Thailand, Malaysia and Indonesia, with the company indicating its first European customer deployment expected in July.

Amity Robotics said the new funding will support deeper integrations, expanded operations and the launch of ARC Move, its first mobile robot. ARC Move is designed to approach, assist and guide customers around stores and large properties to extend the company’s physical AI platform beyond its fixed kiosks.

The startup pointed out that it has developed a proprietary robotics operating system for voice conversations and movement, along with developing edge AI capabilities for its robots.

“We believe a world-class physical AI company can be built from Thailand and Southeast Asia,” chairman Korawad Chearavanont said in the announcement. “This round is a strong endorsement of that ambition, and of a future where AI steps into the physical world to serve people directly.”

The company reported that its ARC Base has been deployed with mall operators including Pavilion KL, Siam Piwat, The Mall Group and Pacific Place Jakarta, as well as hotels operated by groups including IHG, Accor and Shangri-La.

Amity Robotics is a part of Amity, an AI group that recently closed a $100 million Series D. Amity Robotics said the two companies are affiliated through a common major shareholder, Amity Corporation, but operate as separate independent businesses.
