Fambot Launches AI Chief of Staff to Help Parents Manage Family Logistics

Startup Fambot has introduced an AI-powered “chief of staff” designed to help parents manage the mental load of children’s activities, school communications, and family logistics. The company was founded by former Instagram engineer Greg Karlin, now Fambot’s CTO, and CEO David Reich, a father and former Uber product executive, later joined by co-founder Jason Morrow, previously of Google and LinkedIn.

Reich said the idea stemmed from his own struggle balancing demanding work responsibilities with the constant stream of emails, WhatsApp groups, and school communications competing for his attention as a parent. Fambot connects to a family’s email, calendar, and relevant WhatsApp groups, then uses a combination of AI models, none of which train on user data, to generate a daily checklist and preview upcoming events.

Unlike text-based AI agents such as Poke or Instinct, Fambot offers a full web and mobile app experience in addition to text messaging, which the company said allows for more advanced functionality. Fambot plans to eventually integrate with additional platforms used by schools and youth organizations.

Ahead of launch, the company tested the product with more than 1,000 families, finding demand extended beyond dual-working-parent households to single-parent and other family structures. Fambot has raised $3.5 million in pre-seed funding co-led by NextView Ventures and Baukunst, with additional backing from Correlation Ventures, Karman Ventures, and Founders Network. The app is currently free during beta on iOS, Android, and the web.
