Sequoia Leads $30M Round for Cymphony to Secure Enterprise AI Agents

Cymphony, a New York- and Tel Aviv-based startup, has raised $30 million to help enterprises manage security risks posed by AI agents operating alongside human employees. The funding includes a $25 million Series A co-led by Sequoia Capital and SMBC Fin Atlas Beyond Fund, valuing the company at more than $100 million, following an earlier undisclosed seed round from Sequoia.

Founded by CEO Shy Dekel alongside co-founders Idan Berkovits and Edi Gotlieb, Cymphony built a “workforce graph” that gives security teams visibility into employees, AI agents, and other non-human identities across corporate systems. Dekel explained that AI agents increasingly function as independent entities within organizations but lack the identity and access controls designed for human staff, creating security gaps. The company said it discovered roughly 85,000 files exposed to AI tools at one client and identified an incident involving an unauthorized AI deployment scanning sensitive files.

Sequoia partner Bogomil Balkansky said the firm’s renewed investment reflected Cymphony’s enterprise traction, including customers such as KKR and Syngenta, and its approach of treating identity and data security as a unified problem. The company competes with larger security platforms including Microsoft, Okta, and Wiz, as concerns grow over AI agents’ expanding access to sensitive corporate systems.
