Netflix Introduces AI Discover Tab to Deliver Mood-Based Recommendations
Netflix has announced that it is rolling out AI Discover, a new tab where users can experiment with AI-powered ways to find something to watch, beginning with recommendations based on their current mood.
The feature is driven by a new intelligence layer that Netflix has been building, which responds to what users tell the platform in real time and continues to learn. Users can choose from curated themes featuring clips from shows and films, organized by mood, viewing preferences, available time or what is new and trending, with options such as something light, scare me, family movie night and quick watches.
After selecting a theme, users see matching recommendations and can narrow their search with more specific themes or start again with a something different option. A Tune Your Recommendations button beside Play and My List lets them save titles they like or exclude ones they do not want suggested again.
Netflix said in a blog post that it has spent years refining personalized recommendations and described AI Discover as a test kitchen for new discovery approaches, with user feedback shaping which features eventually reach the main service.
The tab is rolling out in the U.S. to English-language users on supported TVs, with wider availability expected in the coming weeks.
