Amsterdam-based Moonlit.ai, an AI-driven legal research platform for European jurisdictions, has officially spun out from Deloitte with an investment from Curiosity VC. This move positions Moonlit.ai as an independent company, focusing on expanding its reach and improving legal research across Europe.
The new funding will be used to enhance AI capabilities, improve search accuracy, and broaden coverage of European jurisdictions. Additionally, the company plans to expand its team of legal and tech experts and intensify go-to-market efforts in Germany and the Benelux region.
Founded by Roderick Lucas, an AI and data science expert, and Dirk-Jan van den Broek, a seasoned lawyer, Moonlit.ai aims to make European legal research more efficient and accessible. The platform, originally developed within Deloitte, is already trusted by law firms and corporate legal departments across Europe, offering features like instant translations and summaries for cross-border legal activities.
