Romanian-Founded Ogre AI Secures €3M to Advance AI-Powered Forecasting for Renewable Energy Transition

Romanian-founded energy tech startup Ogre AI, which develops AI-based forecasting solutions for the energy sector, has raised €3M in a new funding round. Led by VERBUND X Ventures, the round also saw participation from Early Game Ventures, MMC VC Fund, Soulmates Ventures, and Sofia Angels Ventures.

Founded in 2021 by Matei Stratan and Mihai Cucuringu, Ogre AI focuses on advanced AI solutions to predict energy generation and demand, particularly in the renewable energy sector. As the global share of electricity generated from renewable sources surpassed 30% in 2023, AI-driven forecasting is increasingly crucial for balancing energy supply and demand.
