Hyderabad-based hyperlocal news platform Way2News has raised $14 million in a Series B funding round led by WestBridge Capital, with participation from Sashi Reddi. The new funds will be used to expand its presence in Telugu and Tamil-speaking communities and extend its reach across South India, focusing on Kannada and Malayalam.
Founded in 2015, Way2News delivers short news stories in eight Indian languages. Currently operating in 100 districts across South India, the platform has seen significant growth, reaching 15 million monthly active users. The company plans to invest in AI technology to streamline content management, expand its AI team, and improve operational efficiency.
