StepChange Labs Raises $4M to Advance AI-Powered Tech Monitoring

San Francisco-based StepChange Labs has secured $4 million in seed funding to expand its AI-driven monitoring platform, APX (Application Performance Xcellerator). The funding round was co-led by Kindred Ventures and The General Partnership, with additional support from Ritual Capital and Liquid 2 Ventures.

StepChange Labs, led by CEO Niall O’Higgins and CTO Harry Tormey, leverages AI to streamline performance monitoring for enterprises. The APX platform automatically identifies, diagnoses, and resolves performance issues such as slow queries and bottlenecks. By automating these processes, APX reduces the need for manual intervention, allowing teams to focus on advanced development tasks while optimizing costs and resource allocation.

According to the company, APX minimizes reliance on traditional performance dashboards and ensures consistent improvements with expert-driven optimizations and regression detection. The recent funding will support the platform’s continued development and the company’s operational growth as it seeks to redefine how enterprises address performance monitoring with AI.
