Studio Atelico, founded in 2024 by veterans from Uber, Meta, and Creative Assembly, has secured $5 million in seed funding to advance its mission of redefining generative AI in video games. The round was led by Nathan Benaich of Air Street Capital, with participation from leading AI figures including Chris Ré of Stanford, Thomas Wolf of Hugging Face, and Alex Ratner of Snorkel AI.
The company is developing an on-device AI engine that enables reactive worlds, adaptive characters, and dynamic storytelling without costly infrastructure. Alongside its engine, Studio Atelico is building its first game for mobile and cross-platform markets. With ethics as a core principle, the studio is partnering with artists to ensure fairness, transparency, and creative collaboration in generative AI.
