Atlassian to Acquire The Browser Company for $610M to Build AI-Powered Browser for Work

Atlassian has announced an agreement to acquire The Browser Company, maker of the Arc and Dia browsers, in a $610 million cash deal. The acquisition, expected to close in the second quarter of fiscal year 2026, will allow Atlassian to accelerate its vision of developing an AI-powered browser tailored for knowledge work.

Atlassian CEO and co-founder Mike Cannon-Brookes said the transaction represents a bold step toward reimagining how SaaS applications function in the browser. Josh Miller, CEO of The Browser Company, confirmed the company will continue to operate independently under Atlassian and expand development of its new browser, Dia. The New York-based startup has raised $128 million from investors including Jeff Weiner, Ev Williams, Dylan Field, Akshay Kothari, and Jason Warner.
