Google Launches Mixboard, an AI Mood Board Platform Powered by Nano Banana

Google has introduced Mixboard, a new AI-driven platform that lets users create digital mood boards directly from text prompts, competing with Pinterest’s collage feature. Unlike traditional mood boards that rely on pre-collected images, Mixboard generates visuals through AI and allows further edits, combinations, and regenerations using Nano Banana, Google’s latest image editing model.

Initially available as a public beta in the U.S. via Google Labs, Mixboard enables users to brainstorm ideas for home décor, events, DIY projects, and more by blending AI-generated images with text. The product reflects rising interest among younger audiences in digital collages, a trend previously fueled by Pinterest’s Shuffles app.

Mixboard positions Google to capture creative users seeking flexible AI tools while showcasing Nano Banana’s capabilities within its ecosystem.
