Light Secures €25M Series A to Redefine AI-Native Finance

Copenhagen-based Light, the AI-native finance platform founded by Jonathan Sanders, has secured €25 million in Series A funding led by Balderton Capital, with participation from Atomico, Cherry, Seedcamp, Entrée, and notable angels including Thomas Wolf of Hugging Face and Charles Songhurst of Meta. The round brings the company’s total funding to €36 million.

Founded in 2022, Light positions itself as a full AI-driven replacement for legacy ERP systems, capable of processing 280 million records in under a second. Its platform automates multi-entity accounting, payments, and expense management across global jurisdictions while matching human-level accuracy and catching errors professionals often miss.

With 30x growth over the past year, Light reports customers cut finance operations time by 84% after switching from traditional tools. The new funding will accelerate U.S. expansion with a New York office, triple its engineering team, and advance deployment of its AI finance platform designed for hypergrowth companies of the 21st century.
