Thinking Machines Lab Co-Founder Andrew Tulloch Departs to Join Meta as AI Talent Wars Escalate

Andrew Tulloch, co-founder of Thinking Machines Lab, has departed the AI startup to join Meta, marking a significant leadership change at the company led by former OpenAI CTO Mira Murati.

A spokesperson for Thinking Machines Lab confirmed Tulloch’s exit, stating that he chose to pursue a different path for personal reasons. His move follows reports from The Wall Street Journal that Mark Zuckerberg had previously sought to recruit Tulloch as part of Meta’s ongoing AI hiring surge.

Tulloch, an accomplished AI researcher who previously worked at OpenAI and Facebook AI Research, joins Meta at a time of escalating competition for top AI talent across the global technology sector.
