David AI Raises $50M Series B to Advance Audio Data Research for Next-Generation AI Models

David AI, the world’s first dedicated audio data research lab, has raised $50 million in Series B funding to expand its work in building datasets and evaluation systems for next-generation audio AI models. The round was led by Meritech Capital, with participation from NVIDIA, Alt Capital, First Round Capital, Amplify Partners, and Y Combinator.

Positioned at the intersection of AI infrastructure and sound-based computing, David AI collaborates with several Mag7 companies and leading AI labs developing audio capabilities. The company’s research-driven approach focuses on solving the data bottlenecks that hinder progress in speech, emotion, and multilingual audio understanding — areas critical to applications such as humanoid robotics, wearables, and voice assistants.

Founded to address the limitations of existing audio datasets, David AI combines scientific rigor with large-scale data engineering to improve how models are trained and evaluated. The new funding will accelerate its expansion and strengthen its role as the core data layer powering the future of audio AI.
