UBTech Humanoid Robot Walker S2 Begins Mass Production and Delivery

Insider Brief

  • UBTech has begun mass production and delivery of several hundred Walker S2 industrial humanoid robots, moving toward its target of 500 units this year and marking one of the first large-scale commercial deployments of full-size humanoids in factory environments, according to the company.
  • The Walker S2 is being adopted across automotive manufacturing, smart factories, logistics hubs and data centers, supported by UBTech’s BrainNet integration platform and its Co-Agent intelligent agent system for autonomous task planning and anomaly detection.
  • UBTech reports more than 800 million yuan (about $112 million) in Walker series orders since early 2025 and is expanding production capacity to 5,000 units annually by 2026 and 10,000 by 2027 as it builds a broader ecosystem for industrial-scale humanoid deployment.

UBTech has begun mass production and delivery of several hundred Walker S2 humanoid robots, marking one of the first large-scale deployments of full-size industrial humanoids in operating factory environments. According to the company, initial shipments move the company toward its goal of delivering 500 units this year and signal a shift from prototype demonstrations to commercial deployment.

The Chinese company said it has built a closed-loop commercial model that links core technology development, field application and iterative improvement. This structure enables UBTech to respond quickly to customer needs, secure large orders and establish a replicable framework for industrial humanoid rollout. UBTech plans to expand production capacity to 5,000 units annually by 2026 and 10,000 units by 2027.

Walker S2 units are being deployed in automotive manufacturing, smart factories, logistics hubs and data collection centers. UBTech indicated it has moved from a product-only model to a turnkey operational approach supported by BrainNet, its proprietary platform designed for rapid scenario configuration and integration into existing industrial systems.

Walker S2 is the first industrial humanoid robot built with UBTech’s Co-Agent intelligent agent system, which provides capabilities in task planning, intention recognition, tool operation and autonomous anomaly detection. A training and enablement system supports customers as humanoid robots are incorporated into routine production workflows.

Since early 2025, orders for UBTech’s Walker series have exceeded 800 million yuan (about $112 million). Recent contracts include a 159 million yuan deployment at a data collection center in Zigong and a 250 million yuan order placed in September, among the largest humanoid robotics deals this year.

UBTech works with major industrial partners including BYD, Dongfeng Liuzhou Motor, Geely Auto, FAW-Volkswagen Qingdao, Audi FAW, BAIC New Energy, Foxconn and SF Express. As Walker S units are integrated into automotive production lines, the company is gathering extensive operational data to refine performance and develop coordinated, task-driven multi-robot systems.

Humanoid robots are increasingly viewed as a critical platform for embodied AI, though broad adoption requires progress in technology maturity, verified use cases and scalable delivery. UBTech positions itself as the first company to complete that cycle at industrial scale by using real-world deployments to refine its technology and delivery model while expanding production. The company aims to build a broader ecosystem to accelerate the commercialization of humanoid robotics.
