Runway Closes $315M Series E to Advance AI World Models and Video Generation Technology

AI video generation company Runway has secured $315 million in Series E funding, bringing its valuation to approximately $5.3 billion, according to a source familiar with the deal. The round was led by General Atlantic, with participation from Nvidia, Fidelity Management & Research, AllianceBernstein, Adobe Ventures, Mirae Asset, Emphatic Capital, Felicis, Premji, and AMD Ventures. The company plans to use the capital to pre-train the next generation of AI world models and expand applications across industries.

Runway recently introduced its first world model and released Gen-4.5, its latest AI video generation system featuring high-definition video creation, native audio, multi-shot generation, and advanced editing capabilities. The company is expanding beyond media and advertising into gaming and robotics, supported by infrastructure growth, including a compute partnership with CoreWeave, and plans to scale its research, engineering, and go-to-market teams.
