China’s D-Robotics Raises USD $150M in New Funding With Series B Total of USD $270M

D-Robotics announced it has reached a total of $270 million USD in Series B funding, a month after a it was reported it had raised $120 million USD in the round..

The company said it will use the capital to advance its embodied intelligence platform, focusing on software-hardware integration and edge-cloud systems to drive product innovation, as it lookss to expand globally and grow its developer ecosystem.

According to Yicai Global, investors in the B2 round include a retail and supply chain technology company, ride-hailing firm Didi Global, Prosperity7 Ventures, GL Ventures, Vertex Growth and 5Y Capital. Participants in the earlier B1 round included Didi Global, Meituan’s Long-Z Fund, BAIC Capital, Xilian Capital and Joyoung Family Office, the company said.

D-Robotics’ latest a $100 million Series A round in May last year, underscoring continued investor interest in foundational infrastructure for embodied AI even as broader robotics funding diverges, Yicai Global reported.

Gasgoo reported the company’s shipments rose 180% last year from the prior year, while its customer base grew 200%. It added that it has launched more than 100 robot products and built a developer community of more than 100,000 users across Asia-Pacific, Europe and North America, though it did not disclose total shipment volumes or revenue.

D-Robotics was spun out of the artificial intelligence of things unit of autonomous driving chipmaker Horizon Robotics in January 2024. The company focuses on building computing platforms and general-purpose hardware and software infrastructure for consumer robots and embodied AI applications.
