Adobe Launches Firefly AI Assistant to Power Cross-App Creative Workflows

Adobe has officially introduced its Firefly AI Assistant, evolving its previously previewed Project Moonlight into a unified AI agent designed to operate across its creative ecosystem. The assistant is set to enter public beta in the coming weeks, integrating with tools including Photoshop, Premiere Pro, Lightroom, Illustrator, and Adobe Express.

The AI assistant enables users to generate and edit content through prompts while orchestrating multi-step workflows across applications. It can suggest actions, execute tasks, and adapt controls dynamically based on the project, while allowing users to intervene at any stage. Adobe indicated the system will learn user preferences over time to improve recommendations.

Led by Alexandru Costin, the initiative focuses on reducing complexity across Adobe’s product suite. The company is also expanding Firefly’s capabilities with new video editing features and additional third-party AI model integrations.
