CopilotKit Secures $27M Series A to Embed AI Agents Directly Into Enterprise Apps

Seattle-based CopilotKit has closed a $27 million Series A led by Glilot Capital, NFX, and SignalFire, backing its mission to move AI beyond chatbots and into the fabric of applications themselves. Co-founders Atai Barkai and Uli Barkai argue that text-based AI interfaces fall short, and that agents should instead generate dynamic, interactive UIs tailored to each user action.

The company’s open-source AG-UI protocol, already supported by Google, Microsoft, Amazon, and Oracle, underpins this approach. Enterprise customers including Deutsche Telekom, Docusign, and Cisco are already in production.

Atai Barkai stressed that enterprises demand both cloud optionality and self-hosting — needs addressed by the newly launched CopilotKit Enterprise Intelligence platform. Uli Barkai added that keeping the open-source stack best-in-class remains central to the company’s growth strategy.
