Meta is developing an AI-powered pendant it plans to begin testing within the next year, according to an internal memo viewed by The Information. The device builds on technology from Limitless, the AI wearable startup Meta acquired in late 2025, whose pendant allowed users to record and process conversations via AI.
The memo also outlines plans to expand Meta’s AI glasses range and launch a business subscription tier called Wearables for Work, signalling an ambitious push to broaden its hardware portfolio despite Reality Labs losing $4 billion in the first quarter of 2026.
Earlier AI wearables from companies including Humane have struggled commercially, but Meta and OpenAI are pressing ahead. Meta framed the Limitless acquisition at the time as a means of accelerating its AI-enabled wearables development.
