European AI development startup Lovable has crossed $500 million in annualized revenue run rate, up from $400 million reported in February, marking continued rapid growth for a company founded in late 2023 that has not yet reached its third anniversary.

The platform, which allows non-technical users to build software through natural language prompts, says it has now powered over 50 million projects, with one million new projects being created each week. The company reports that its primary users are founders, designers, and salespeople building commercial websites, e-commerce storefronts, and internal business tools including CRM and HR platforms.

The figures position Lovable as a direct competitive pressure on traditional SaaS vendors, as businesses increasingly opt to build custom software with AI rather than purchase expensive annual contracts. Whether AI-generated software proves durable over time, particularly given the ongoing maintenance demands of production code, remains an open question the industry has yet to answer at scale.
