Axis Robotics Raises $12M in Seed Funding to Develop Physical AI Data Engine

Insider Brief

  • Axis Robotics raised $12 million in seed funding to build a data engine for physical AI.
  • Hack VC led the round, with participation from Nomad Capital, Pi Core Team Ventures, 10K Ventures and angel investors, according to a company post on X.
  • Axis said its Data Engine combines large-scale simulation, egocentric real-world capture and human-in-the-loop post-training to produce structured robotics data.

Axis Robotics has raised $12 million in seed funding to build a data engine for physical AI.

The round was led by Hack VC, with participation from Nomad Capital, Pi Core Team Ventures, 10K Ventures and angel investors, the company said in a post on X.

Axis said it is targeting a data problem in robotics. The company said physical AI models need data that is more varied and that can evolve as models improve, rather than relying only on static datasets.

“Axis’s compounding Data Engine is here to fix this gap,” the company wrote. “Our end-to-end closed-loop workflow unites large-scale simulation, egocentric real-world capture, and human-in-the-loop post-training to unlock scalable production of structured, multi-diverse robotic data — the core missing piece for Physical AI.”

The California company said the funding will support its effort to build a larger, human-in-the-loop data engine for robotics.
