Swiss Startup Exclaim Robotics Emerges From Stealth With Nearly $5M in Funding for AI Data Center Robotics

Insider Brief

  • Exclaim Robotics emerged from stealth with $5 million in pre-seed funding to develop autonomous robots for maintaining AI data centers.
  • Founderful and Playfair co-led the round, which the company plans to use to establish its first dedicated workspace, acquire robot arms and expand its engineering team.
  • Founded by CEO Helen Oleynikova, Exclaim is targeting maintenance and safety challenges created by denser power systems, liquid cooling and the shift toward 800-volt direct-current infrastructure.

Exclaim Robotics has emerged from stealth with $4.95 million in pre-seed funding to develop robots for autonomously maintaining AI data centers.

Founderful and Playfair co-led the round that also included angel investors, according to a LinkedIn post from founder and CEO Helen Oleynikova. Exclaim plans to use the funding to move into its first dedicated workspace, acquire robotic arms and begin hiring.

The Zurich-based company is targeting data-center work, and idea Oleynikova said grew from work at Microsoft and a broader search for commercial uses of robotics.

“It’s one of the fastest-evolving industries in physical infrastructure, where increased power densities are running right up against the laws of physics: including switching to 800V DC in the next generation of AI racks,” Oleynikova noted. “This poses many safety questions, and we think robots are the answer.”

The company is recruiting a robotics hardware engineer and a robotics machine-learning engineer as it builds its initial team.
