Jaipur Robotics has raised €4.3 million in seed funding led by EquityPitcher Ventures and High-Tech Gründerfonds to expand its AI and automation platform for waste-to-energy plants.
According to the Swiss startup, the company will use the funding to expand into new regions and broaden its product capabilities as it grows its customer base across Europe.
Jaipur Robotics uses computer vision and automation to analyze waste streams and plant operations. The company said its system processes more than 5 million tons of waste annually and draws on a European dataset containing more than 50 million labeled images.
“We envision a future where data from waste fully drives safety and automation,” said co-founder and CEO Ermes Zamboni. “This round enables us to revolutionise entire plant operations.”
According to Jaipur Robotics, the platform detects hazardous materials with 99% accuracy and provides data that can be used to improve plant safety, combustion and crane operations.
The company reported the following results of its technology:
- More than 80% fewer unplanned shutdowns through real-time hazard detection to reduce downtime.
- More than €1 million in added value from improved waste mixing using calorific-value mapping to support combustion and compliance.
- Predictive crane guidance that is designed to automate crane control and improve productivity.
Jaipur Robotics said more than 3,100 waste-to-energy plants operate worldwide in a market worth about €40 billion, with many still relying on manual monitoring and analog processes.
The company, which last year secured about €161,000 from Venture Kick, indicated it is hiring, including AI, engineering and commercial roles.
