Clinical AI company Heidi has raised $340 million in new funding, comprising a $100 million Series C led by Blackbird and a $240 million growth investment led by General Catalyst’s Customer Value Fund. Existing investors Phoenix Court, Point72 Private Investments and Headline also participated, valuing the company at $900 million.
Heidi first gained traction with an AI scribe that captures clinical notes in real time. The company now plans to move beyond documentation, applying AI to tasks such as pre-charting, chasing diagnostics and other operational work, while leaving medical judgment entirely with clinicians. Because Heidi works from the full clinical conversation rather than the condensed health record, it said it is well placed to tackle that backlog. Its goal is an AI Care Partner beside every clinician worldwide.
Rather than relying on general-purpose AI, Heidi built task-specific medical foundation models designed for healthcare’s precision and safety requirements. The platform now supports 2.8 million patient visits a week across 190 countries and 110 languages, totaling more than 175 million visits, and has grown annual recurring revenue from $1 million to $50 million in two years.
Customers include NHS Midlands, Metro South Health, Health New Zealand and Beth Israel Lahey Health. The company, which began as an idea pitched by Dr Tom Kelly, said it will keep working closely with regulators as clinical AI develops.
