Bee, the AI wearable maker acquired by Amazon last year, has introduced its first new products since the deal: the Bee Frontier, a next-generation device worn on the wrist or pinned to clothing, and the Bee Eclipse, a credit-card-sized device that attaches magnetically to the back of a smartphone.
Priced at $74.99 and $99.99 respectively, the devices come in below rivals such as the Plaud Note at $159 and the PocketAI device at $129, with the Eclipse bringing Bee into more direct competition with them.
Both devices use AI to capture everyday conversations and turn them into summaries, to-dos and insights, such as creating a calendar invite from plans agreed with friends. Free features include conversation summaries and 14 days of memory, while an $11.99 monthly Bee Pro subscription adds unlimited summaries, a personal chat assistant and integrations with Amazon.com, Alexa+ and third-party apps. Bee also works with tools such as Gmail and Microsoft Outlook.
Bee’s private computing architecture processes audio in real time without storing it, encrypting transcripts with keys controlled by the user’s device so that not even Amazon employees can access them. Users can optionally connect Bee to Alexa’s Voice ID.
The Frontier is available now on Amazon, with the Eclipse to follow soon.
