Zenzap, a private messaging platform with built-in AI for businesses, has secured $44 million in funding from investors including Bessemer, Lightspeed and The Garage, along with Wix president Nir Zohar and former EY GM Yoram Tietz. It marks the first fundraise for founder Guy Weiss, who bootstrapped and sold e-commerce marketing platform StuccoMedia before founding Zenzap in 2022 with co-founders Noam Neumann and Jonatan Bien.
Weiss said consumer apps such as WhatsApp and iMessage cannot support AI agents in the workplace because they do not comply with IT requirements, while Slack and Microsoft Teams were not built for mobile-first, everyday users. Zenzap targets sectors ranging from hospitality and construction to healthcare and fast food, with clients including FedEx, Dollar General, Taco Bell and Starbucks.
Its free tier offers chat, task management and AI-powered voice chat and search, while paid plans start at $51 per month for up to 20 users. The company also offers AI agents for workflow automation and AI-aided transcription through credit-based pricing.
Bessemer partner Adam Fisher said Zenzap serves the vast majority of non-developer employees who rely on personal messaging apps, adding that the rise of AI agents makes separating work from personal life essential. The 50-person company plans to hire in product and R&D.
