PRESS RELEASE — Unified.to, a real-time unified API platform providing B2B data to AI-driven software companies, today announced the successful completion of its Pre-Seed funding round, raising $1.1M CAD. The round was led by Canadian-based LOI Venture, a new fund by Ryan Holmes (Co-founder and Board Member of Hootsuite) and Manny Padda (Founder and Managing Director of New Avenue Capital), and DevCap, a new AI-focused fund by Jordan Steiner (Chief Strategy Officer at Monadical) and Max McCrea (Co-founder and CTO of Monadical) and 11 prominent technology investors. The round also saw participation from US-based Techstars, Alumni Ventures, Gurtin Ventures, and Baker Bridge Ventures.
API integrations have become increasingly vital for B2B software companies that are leveraging AI, enabling them to harness real-time, bespoke customer data to distinguish their products in a crowded SaaS market. Unified.to’s platform is purpose-built to address this need, offering an extensible API architecture that ensures companies can easily access real-time customer data from a wide variety of data sources to power their AI bots, insights, predictive analytics, and more.
“We’ve known that B2B SaaS companies have needed API integrations to build interconnected solutions, but now B2B SaaS needs AI and AI needs data,” says Roy Pereira, Co-Founder and CEO of Unified.to. “We’ve built a next-gen universal API translator that provides companies with access to clean and normalized customer data in real-time from hundreds of APIs across multiple verticals. We’ve felt the pain of building and maintaining API integrations at our previous companies and knew firsthand how much Unified.to was needed in the market.”
LOI Venture’s $20M pre-seed fund is positioned to help accelerate early-stage startups in Canada who enrol in the League of Innovators program.
“Starting and scaling Hootsuite, I’ve earned my scars in the B2B SaaS world. Seeing solutions like Unified.to pop up get me excited to see how developers can be armed with tools to build smarter, and faster to solve the problems of tomorrow. When our team looked deeper into what Unified.to was building, it was a no-brainer to get behind it.” says Ryan Holmes, Co-founder and Board Member of Hootsuite.
DevCap is focused on supporting early-stage AI startups through funding and development guidance.
“While conducting our technical due diligence of Unified.to, we were impressed by the clarity of thought that went into the abstractions used and the code base. This was evident in the impressive velocity with which a small team managed to ship over 200 API integrations,” says Jordan Steiner, CEO of DevCap. “Our customer calls also revealed a high performing, advanced solution that was viewed as both a revenue driver and a cost savings. This has been a pain point we have seen with our own customers for many years that Unified.to is solving.”
Since launching just over a year ago, Unified.to has rapidly expanded its unified API platform, now supporting 16 verticals, including HR, ATS, CRM, Messaging, E-Commerce, Payment, File Storage, and Knowledge Management. One of Unified.to’s notable successes includes saving Toronto-based HR software company Humi $1 million in integration development costs. By leveraging Unified.to’s unified API, Humi added 25 HRIS integrations in just one month-a testament to the platform’s efficiency and effectiveness.
In addition to securing this round of funding, Unified.to recently launched a feature-rich startup tier aimed at early-stage companies. This tier includes unlimited customers, connections, integrations, and generous API request allowances, providing startups with the tools to test and validate their integration strategies. Its usage-based pricing model and scalability make it well-positioned for mid to large SaaS companies.
Unified.to will use funds from this round to enhance its go-to-market efforts, grow its team, and continue innovating its product offerings to meet the evolving data needs of AI-driven B2B software companies.
