You.com, the artificial intelligence startup founded in 2020 by former Salesforce chief scientist Richard Socher, has raised $100 million in new funding at a $1.5 billion valuation, according to Bloomberg. Originally launched as an AI-powered search engine, the company has shifted its focus toward providing broader AI services and enterprise tools as competition in the consumer search space intensifies with rivals like Google and Perplexity.
The company now emphasizes search APIs and enterprise adoption, serving customers including DuckDuckGo, Databricks, and Harvey AI, while processing nearly 1 billion queries per month. With the new capital, You.com plans to double its workforce of 100 employees, open a San Francisco office, and expand in New York. The funding marks a major step in its strategy to position AI as a core driver of enterprise productivity and innovation.
