Cairo-based Insurtech startup SehaTech has closed a $1.1 million Seed round, bringing total funding to $2 million, as it advances its mission to digitize and automate health insurance administration across Egypt and emerging markets.
The round was led by Ingressive Capital, with participation from Plus VC, strategic angel investors, and existing backers A15, Beltone Venture Capital, and a prominent industry veteran.
Founded by Mohamed Elshabrawy, SehaTech uses AI-driven automation to streamline medical insurance workflows, reduce fraud, and eliminate inefficiencies between insurers and healthcare providers. By modernizing the infrastructure of healthcare financing, the company aims to boost health insurance penetration and make coverage more accessible to underserved populations.
With new funding, SehaTech plans to expand its team, enhance AI capabilities, and scale operations across Egypt and the wider region, solidifying its position as a leader in healthcare automation and financial inclusion.
