Symbolic.ai Agrees To News Corp Partnership to Deploy AI Across Dow Jones Newswires

Symbolic.ai, an AI journalism startup founded by Devin Wenig, former CEO of eBay, and Jon Stokes, co-founder of Ars Technica, has signed a commercial agreement with News Corp to deploy its AI platform across Dow Jones Newswires, the media group’s global financial news service. The partnership marks one of the most substantive production-level AI integrations in a major newsroom to date.

Under the agreement, News Corp will use Symbolic.ai’s tools to support editorial workflows, including research, transcription, fact-checking, newsletter production, headline optimization, and SEO guidance. Symbolic.ai says its platform has demonstrated productivity improvements of up to 90% on complex research tasks while keeping journalists in full editorial control.

The deal builds on News Corp’s broader AI strategy, following its 2024 content-licensing partnership with OpenAI and ongoing exploration of additional AI collaborations. By adopting Symbolic.ai within Dow Jones Newswires, News Corp is moving beyond experimentation toward operational AI use in professional journalism.
