Temporal Announces $300M Series D to Scale Infrastructure for Agentic AI Applications

Temporal, an open-source platform focused on reliable application development, announced a $300 million Series D funding round led by Andreessen Horowitz, bringing the company’s valuation to $5 billion. Additional participation came from Lightspeed Venture Partners, Sapphire Ventures, and existing investor Sequoia Capital.

Led by CEO Samar Abbas, Temporal is expanding its durable execution platform to support production deployment of agentic AI systems and stateful applications at scale. The company reported more than 380% year-over-year revenue growth, reflecting rising demand for infrastructure that enables reliable AI-driven workflows. Temporal’s platform is used by organizations including OpenAI, Block, ADP, and Yum! Brands, as the company scales its managed cloud service, research initiatives, and global engineering teams.
