Bretton AI Closes $75M Series B to Expand Agentic AI for Financial Crime Compliance

Bretton AI, a financial crime compliance technology firm, announced a $75 million Series B funding round led by Sapphire Ventures, with participation from TIAA Ventures and existing investors including Canvas Ventures, Greylock, Thomson Reuters Ventures, and Y Combinator. As part of the investment, Sapphire Ventures partner Rajeev Dham has joined the company’s board of directors.

Founded in 2023 and led by CEO Will Lawrence, the company provides an agentic AI platform for financial institutions covering transaction analysis, KYC and KYB reviews, AML investigations, sanctions screening, and monitoring. Alongside the funding, the firm revealed a rebrand from Greenlite AI to Bretton AI to reflect its evolution into a full-scale financial crime operations platform. The capital will support product expansion, regulatory engagement, and growth among large institutions.
