Insider Brief

  • Pudu Robotics is partnering with Shenzhen Culture & Tourism Industry Development Co. to develop a robot-serviced hotel in Shenzhen, China, where robots will handle functions including guest reception, room delivery, housekeeping, food service and guest assistance.
  • The project will be deployed in phases through 2030, with initial operations expected by the end of 2026 featuring automated check-in, autonomous room deliveries and robotic support across the property.
  • Pudu said the hotel will serve as a testbed for its embodied AI strategy, using its PuduFM 1.0 foundation model and PuduAgent platform to coordinate delivery, cleaning, transportation and service robots through a shared software architecture.

Pudu Robotics is partnering with Shenzhen Culture & Tourism Industry Development Co. to develop what it describes as a fully robot-serviced hotel in Shenzhen, China, a project aimed at testing how robotics and AI can be integrated across nearly every aspect of hotel operations.

According to Pudu, the hotel will be built on the West Artificial Island of the Shenzhen-Zhongshan Link, a major transportation hub in China’s Greater Bay Area. Robots will be deployed for guest reception, room deliveries, housekeeping, food service and other hospitality functions.

“This partnership represents an important step toward large-scale deployment of embodied intelligence in premium hospitality environments,” Pudu Robotics co-founder and CTO Cong Guo. “It also provides an opportunity to explore new service models where AI and robotics work together to deliver intelligent, end-to-end experiences in the real world.”

The company said the project is scheduled to roll out in phases through 2030, with initial operations expected to begin by the end of 2026. Early deployments will include automated check-in services, autonomous room deliveries and robotic support throughout the property.

What Will The Pudu Robots Do At The Hotel?

Pudu noted that unlike many hotels that use individual robots for specific tasks, the goal is to create a coordinated robotics system that manages the full guest experience. Robots would work across front-of-house and back-of-house operations, handling tasks ranging from luggage transport and room service to cleaning and guest assistance.

To demonstrate the concept, Pudu showcased several of its existing commercial robots during the signing ceremony. These included its FlashBot delivery system, the T300 transport robot for moving luggage and supplies, CC1 Pro and MT1 cleaning robots, and hospitality-focused service robots such as BellaBot Pro and KettyBot Pro.

The project will also serve as a testbed for Pudu’s broader embodied AI strategy. According to the company, the hotel will run on its PuduFM 1.0 foundation model and PuduAgent software platform, which are designed to allow different robot types to share common AI capabilities while performing specialized tasks. The company said the approach enables delivery, cleaning and service robots to operate from a common software architecture while adapting to different environments and responsibilities.
