Orbio AI, a Madrid-based HR technology startup, has raised £16 million in a Series A round led by Dawn Capital, with participation from existing investor Visionaries. The company was co-founded in 2025 by Sergi Bastardas, Nacho Travesí, and Antonio Melé, and targets the 2.7 billion frontline workers it says are underserved by traditional enterprise software.

Orbio’s AI agent suite covers the full employee lifecycle, conducting interviews, assessing candidate fit, guiding onboarding, monitoring engagement, and tracking churn signals from first application through to exit. Current enterprise customers include AWWG, Poke House, Atento, Yum Brands, and Adecco, several of which are already extending their Orbio deployments into the UK.

The funding will support a UK market entry with local hires, alongside continued expansion across Europe, the United States, and Latin America. Bastardas said the platform was designed to compress hiring timelines to seconds and onboarding to hours rather than days.

Henry Mason, partner at Dawn Capital, said some of the world’s largest employers had rebuilt their operating models around Orbio within months, replacing labour budget lines in a lasting way.
