RWX Raises $12M Series A to Scale the Dev Cloud for AI-Driven Engineering

Insider Brief

  • RWX, a dev cloud platform built for AI-driven software engineering, announced a $12 million Series A led by Hyde Park Venture Partners, with participation from existing investor Quiet Capital, along with The O.H.I.O. Fund, R1 Capital, DV, and angel investors including Bryan Johnson and Kohsuke Kawaguchi.
  • CEO and co-founder Dan Manges said validating AI-generated code, not writing it, has become software engineering’s biggest bottleneck, positioning RWX as infrastructure purpose-built for that shift rather than retrofitted from human-paced development tools.
  • RWX, founded by Dan Manges and CTO Tommy Graves, is currently used by engineering teams at Honeycomb, Verkada, nCino, and Coalesce, and will use the funding to expand its team and accelerate platform development.

PRESS RELEASE — RWX, the dev cloud platform built for AI-driven software engineering, today announced a $12 million Series A financing led by Hyde Park Venture Partners. Existing investor Quiet Capital participated in the round, alongside The O.H.I.O. FundR1 Capital, and DV, as well as angel investors including Bryan Johnson and Jenkins creator Kohsuke Kawaguchi.

The funding comes as AI coding agents fundamentally reshape how software is built. AI agents now write and change code at a pace no human could match. The systems meant to validate that code — CI pipelines, test suites, deployment infrastructure — have long been a weak point. AI-driven development has turned that weak point into software engineering’s biggest bottleneck. RWX helps engineering teams validate software faster and more reliably through a dev cloud purpose-built for AI-driven engineering, rather than retrofitted from infrastructure designed for human-paced development.

“The limiting factor in software engineering is no longer writing code. It’s validating it. Every major shift in software development has required new infrastructure, and AI-driven engineering is no different. RWX is the dev cloud built specifically for that transition,” said Dan Manges, CEO and Co-founder of RWX.

“Dan and Tommy recognized early that AI-driven engineering would require a fundamentally different infrastructure stack. They built RWX ahead of that shift, and we’re excited to support the team as they scale the infrastructure layer for AI-driven software development,” said Greg Barnes, Partner at Hyde Park Venture Partners.

“Building infrastructure for AI-driven engineering requires more than recognizing where software is headed — it requires years of experience building systems at scale,” said Mark Kvamme, Co-founder and CEO of The O.H.I.O. Fund. “Dan and Tommy have done that before at Root, and they’re applying those lessons to RWX. We believe they’re uniquely positioned to build the infrastructure this next generation of software development demands.”

RWX is currently used by engineering teams at organizations including Honeycomb, Verkada, nCino (NASDAQ: NCNO), and Coalesce. Customers report that RWX enables them to scale AI-assisted software development by removing validation bottlenecks that slow code delivery.

In a case study published by RWX, Dean Strelau, Staff Engineer at Honeycomb, said, “Our CI system couldn’t keep pace with AI-assisted development. RWX’s content-based caching changed how we thought about CI. We could stop rerunning work that hadn’t changed and keep validation fast as build volume increased.”

RWX will use the new funding to expand its team and accelerate the development of its dev cloud platform.
