PRESS RELEASE — Decade, an AI-native wealth advisory company, announced it is emerging from stealth with an $85 million seed round backed by Greenoaks, Benchmark and Diffusion — the largest seed funding ever raised for a Latin American startup.

Decade’s ambition drew three global investment firms to back a company in Brazil: two founders with a track record of building the region’s banking infrastructure and a plan to create an entirely new category of financial services. Rather than building another bank, brokerage or investment platform, Decade aims to use artificial intelligence to deliver at scale a level of financial intelligence previously reserved for the wealthiest individuals and the large teams of advisors working on their behalf — laying the foundation for what the company believes will be a new generation of millionaires.

“A decade ago, Brazilians paid some of the highest banking fees in the world,” said Neil Mehta, founder of Greenoaks. “Nubank changed that for tens of millions of people, but investing never got its turn. Now it will.”

Mehta added, “Vitor built the technology that powered Nubank’s rise and is building a new AI platform to transform wealth management. Decade cuts fees that customers shouldn’t be paying, surfaces opportunities they would never have discovered on their own, and builds a portfolio around their actual goals. We believe Decade will become the place Brazilians trust with their financial lives, and we are thrilled to partner with them for many years to come.”

Co-founder and CEO Vitor Olivier joined Nubank as one of its earliest engineers, rising to Chief Technology Officer as the company grew into the world’s largest digital bank, serving more than 100 million customers across Latin America. Co-founder and Head of AI Felipe Meneses, the first Brazilian selected for the Thiel Fellowship, founded Hyperplane, an AI company focused on financial institutions that Nubank later acquired — bringing the two founders together to lead some of the bank’s largest AI initiatives.

Brazil has repeatedly led the world in financial innovation. Pix, the country’s instant payment system, processes close to 100 billion transactions a year and has become a global reference for central banks. Open Finance gave Brazilians standardized access to their own financial data at a scale most markets have yet to reach. Yet only about a third of Brazilians hold any financial investment, and only 7% can live off their own savings after retirement. While products and information are more abundant than ever, it has become increasingly hard to distill them into sound financial decisions that protect the legacy people build through years of hard work.

“Managing your own money is a second job,” said Vitor Olivier, co-founder and CEO of Decade. “Perform it well, and you can achieve your dreams, build a family, take care of yourself and those around you. Perform it poorly and you’ll be indebted and anxious, one disease away from bankruptcy; structurally unable to retire. Too many people are in the business of making you perform your second job poorly.”

Decade pairs each client with a senior human advisor and a proprietary AI model that knows their full financial context and remembers every conversation. This gives advisors the capacity to analyze and model market data more than any human could alone. The advisor gives the AI model the judgment and relationship no other model has. Together they monitor clients’ daily spending and investment portfolios around the clock, so the right decision can be made in a moment and compound for decades.

“Even a year ago, it would have been impossible to build what we’re building,” said Felipe Meneses, co-founder and Head of AI. “Financial services are complex by design and often monetized through asymmetry of information. AI collapses that asymmetry. Decade is AI-native from day one: agents that read every statement, monitor every position, and reason across your entire balance sheet, continuously. That level of attention used to be reserved for the ultra-rich. Now we can create an entire generation of millionaires.”
