China’s Mech-Mind Robotics Technologies is preparing to open investor orders for a Hong Kong initial public offering that could raise about $300 million, the South China Morning Post reported.

The company plans to use proceeds from the IPO to develop advanced AI models, improve its hardware, expand research infrastructure and move into additional applications.

The Meituan-backed company is expected to begin taking orders Monday and is targeting a Sept. 1 trading debut, according to people familiar with the matter cited by the Post. The fundraising target is up from about $200 million a year ago. Mech-Mind is also backed by Intel and HSG and the company completed pre-IPO financing in 2025 at a valuation of 6.3 billion yuan.

Mech-Mind cleared its listing hearing with Hong Kong Exchanges and Clearing last week, the final regulatory step before proceeding with the offering. China’s securities regulator earlier approved the company to issue as many as 27.48 million overseas ordinary shares.

Founded in 2016 and based in Xiongan New Area in Hebei province, Mech-Mind develops industrial 3D cameras and AI software that help robots perceive their surroundings and make decisions. Its customers include CATL, BYD, Midea and Foxconn, according to the Post.

The company operates in nearly 50 countries across China, North America, Europe and Asia, with overseas customers accounting for about half of its revenue last year. Its overseas gross margin was 79% in 2025, compared with 50% in China.

Mech-Mind remains unprofitable and the company reported an adjusted net loss of 109 million yuan, or about $16 million, in 2025, narrowing from 214 million yuan in 2024. It expects losses to continue this year because of spending on research, development and sales, according the report.
